FATAL ACCIDENT TEAM

ST. MATTHEWS POLICE

ACCIDENT RECONSTRUCTION TEAM

The St. Matthews Police Department has a fully trained Accident Reconstruction Team that is called out to work all vehicle collisions where there is a loss of life or a severe life threatening injury.  The team consists of one sergeant and two officers.  All team members have been through a six-week specialized accident reconstruction school.  Team members also go to specialized training to investigate accidents involving trains, pedestrians, bicyclists and ATV’s.  In addition, one member of the team is a former traffic officer from the Louisville Police Department and has extensive experience working serious accidents.

By making sure that serious collisions are investigated thoroughly and properly, the team ensures proper court results in cases with charges ranging from DUI to Murder.  The team’s work also ensures that civil cases can be handled properly.

The Accident Reconstruction Team is subject to call-out 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Note:  If you are a witness to an accident, please call 893-9000.
